Electronic Devices

The administration at East Tech is not responsible for damaged or stolen cell phones, iPods, MP3 players, computer/laptops, or other electronic devices brought to school by students. In accordance with CCSD Regulation 5136, the use by students of personal technology and communication devices such as cell phones or other similar electronic communication devices is permitted during lunch periods, school-sponsored activities and while on District buses. During the instructional day at East Tech, students may utilize these devices in the following manner: Wide Use: Students are permitted to use cellular phones and personal electronic devices during the instructional day in all classrooms in accordance with instructional activities and classroom procedures as outlined by their classroom teacher. Students are expected to follow teacher directions regarding when devices may be used, when they can be out, and when they must be put away. The Progressive Discipline plan will be followed for students who fail to follow teacher policies.
