Qualification for Sports Medicine Lottery
Qualification for Sports Medicine Lottery
Sports Medicine is a STEM-Based Program, and as such, is considered a criteria-based program. Therefore, in order to qualiify for the lottery, applicants must meet minimum criteria (see below.)
Current school year first semester/trimester report cards will be utilized to qualify for STEM-based programs. CCSD students do not need to submit a report card as report cards will be uploaded directly from CCSD’s Infinite Campus.
Any applicant who currently attends a charter, private, or other non-CCSD schools must submit a copy of their first semester/trimester report card by the application deadline or they will be marked as not qualified.
Students whose report cards earn a 16 or above are eligible for the lottery.
NOTE: You cannot be placed into a lottery if you have already accepted a seat in a different magnet program. If you have already accepted a seat into a magnet program (regardless of location) and you apply for a seat in Sports Medicine in the late lottery, your late application will be declined.
Selection Process
Students are selected for enrollment through a computerized, random lottery process. Lottery results will be made available online on the applicant’s dashboard in their magnet account.
Lottery outcomes:
- Not qualified- Student did not qualify to go through the lottery process
- Selected- Student was selected and must now decide if they wish to accept the seat
- Alternate pool- Student qualified are now waiting for a vacancy as other students are going through the acceptance process and seats become available
If the student wishes to accept the seat for which they have been selected, the applicant must accept the seat online on the dashboard in their magnet account. Any applicants not selected during this initial lottery are placed into an alternate pool. Should a student choose not to attend after being selected for a Magnet/CTA seat, the vacant seat will be assigned to a student in the alternate pool, through a computerized, random selection prior to the end of the second week of each school year.
If seats are available after the initial lottery and after the alternate pool has been exhausted, late applications will be utilized to fill vacancies.
