Student Technology Needs survey and supporting documents.

Greetings East Tech Titan families,

We are excited that our students will have the opportunity to participate in a special Mobile Device distribution to extend Online/Distance learning opportunities outside of the school building. With parent or guardian permission, each student will check out an East CTA Mobile Device for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. This will allow students access to online educational materials and other resources to help them complete their studies at home. 

Students are required to set up accounts to access District-provided applications or systems. Students will be able to access filtered internet with the Mobile Device through wireless networks provided at home or in the community. Additionally, if the device is equipped with a camera it may be enabled to enhance the learning experience and/or communication with your student’s teacher. 

Students will be expected to care for the Mobile Device as if they owned it. They must charge them daily. They must not change or delete the software or settings that allows the school and District to remotely manage the Mobile Devices.  At the end of the school year, or if the student transfers out of East Tech, the Mobile Device will be returned to the school.

As part of the Mobile Device distribution process, please first complete this survey as soon as possible to give us a better understanding of your technology needs. 

Mobile Device distribution will take place in a Drive Thru format. Vehicles will enter campus from Hollywood Blvd. at the southwest corner of campus. Vehicles will proceed to the front of campus where ECTA staff will be able to assist you in checking out a Chromebook. You will not need to park your vehicle. ECTA staff will be following CDC recommended social distancing protocols during this deployment. The deployment schedule is as follows:

9th Grade: 7:00 am - 8:30 am

 

10th Grade: 8:30 am - 10:00 am

 

Tuesday, August 4, 2020

 

11th Grade: 7:00 am - 8:30 am

 

12th Grade: 8:30 am - 10:00 am

 

Please help us in making the Mobile Device distribution run as smoothly as possible by coming to campus during your designated grade time window. If necessary, you are welcome to come to campus during another designated grade window. Additionally, if possible, please complete and bring the CCSD Mobile Device Agreement Form with you. Completion of the form prior to coming to campus will make your checkout process run much faster. 

In order to checkout a Mobile Device, parents/guardians and students must agree to CCSD’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), which outlines responsibilities for using the District’s computer network resources and agree to guidelines and expectations for use of the device. Agreeing to the AUP is completed during the online registration process on Infinite Campus. ECTA staff will inform you if this was not yet completed for your student upon your arrival. If the AUP was not completed, you will have the opportunity to complete during the drive thru.

Parent/guardian(s) and students must bring a photo ID.

Students must return the device at the end of the school year in order to receive a final transcript or diploma.

We understand that you may have further questions regarding the first day of school, student schedules, etc. Please know that we are continuing to develop procedures for you and your student and we will share more information with you very soon.
